About Sixth Station Trio

Sixth Station Trio is a classically trained piano trio based in San Francisco, CA. Composed of three San Francisco natives, Sixth Station Trio debuted at San Francisco's historic Grace Cathedral in May of 2023 to a sold-out concert of 1000 people, featuring music from the films of Studio Ghibli. This catapulted them into a becoming one of the most successful trios of their generation, dedicated to blending their classical backgrounds with their passion for video game and pop music.

Sixth Station trio plays an expansive variety of music ranging from Western classical music, film scores, video game music, and even pop. They've gone on to perform monthly sold-out concerts featuring titles of Genshin Impact, Stardew Valley, Nintendo, Final Fantasy, Studio Ghibli, Pokemon, and more.

The trio has also gone viral for their classical arrangements of video game and pop music online, garnering thousands of followers on Instagram/ TikTok. They have also been featured in the San Francisco Chronicle's Datebook, SF Gate, TimeOut Magazine NYC, Columbia News, San Francisco Classical Voice, The Richmond Review/Sunset Beacon, San Francisco Conservatory of Music News Room, and KTVU Channel 2 News.

Since their debut, Sixth Station Trio has performed several more widely attended performances at Grace Cathedral, Old First Concerts, Asian Art Museum's Samsung Hall, Game Developers Conference, FanimeCon, Super MagFest Convention, San Jose’s MagWest convention, SF Botanical Garden's Flower Piano Festival Lounge Series, 405 Shrader, and SF Japantown's annual NorCal Cherry Blossom Festival.

In October of 2025, they toured to perform a sold-out concert at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NYC, the world's largest gothic cathedral, and performed as special guests at the University of Idaho's AsiaPop! Festival.

Along with their performances, Sixth Station Trio has given back to their community through outreach and mentorship. This includes presenting at San Francisco public schools, and teaching music courses to students of the San Francisco Ballet School. They also have given masterclasses to the students of the University of Idaho's Lionel Hampton School of Music.

Although they are newly formed, the members of Sixth Station Trio have been playing chamber music together since their high school years at Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts, and through their time pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. They recently released their first Studio Ghibli album, alongside a few video game music arrangements.

By bridging the classical world with the mainstream music world, Sixth Station Trio strives to keep classical music relevant to the general public, as well as to bring accessible classical music to all.

Members of the trio have worked with companies including San Francisco Ballet, San Francisco Opera, and the San Francisco Symphony Mentors in Music Program.
